Ann Grimshaw's patriarchal blessing Transcription by Debbie Firkins No. 253
Nephi City
March 14th 1859
A blessing by Wm. Cazier, Patriarch, upon the head of Ann Jackson,
daughter of James Edge and Martha Grimshaw, born 1808,
Manchester, Lancashire, England.
Ann, In the name of Jesus Christ, I place my hands upon thy head and
bless thee with a patriarchal blessing. You
have great cause to rejoice that you were made acquainted with the gospel in
your native land and the Lord has remembered thee and now remembers thee.
For thou art truly of the seed of Abraham and thee and thy seed are
precious in the sight of the Lord. Thou
shall enjoy all the blessings pertaining to Abraham and his seed forever.
The angels of God shall watch over thee continually and they life shall
be prolonged upon the earth and do great good in his kingdom.
You shall be sealed to a man that shall be full of the priesthood and in
connection with him, shall be qualified to redeem thy dead.
Thy lineage is that of Ephraim and it appears to me that your last days
shall be days of peace and rejoicing in the truth of the gospel.
The blessings of the Lord shall be with thee and comfort thee day and
night. For thy greatest trials are
past. You shall have all the
comforts of life in the fruits of the earth to make thee happy in life. Thou shall have a portion with the Saints of the most high
and thy blessings will be as great as any that ever lived upon the earth and thy
seed shall be numerous therein, and thou shalt yet see the Kingdoms of this
world become the Kingdom’s of our Lord and Christ. Thou shalt see the Lord come with his Saints and welcome thee
to join in his throng and I feel to say my sister these blessings are for thee
and I seal them upon thee by the authority of the holy priesthood. In the
name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
