Mother's Lonely Feeling

The following poem was taken from Minnie Heath's The Descendants of Timothy & Johanne Gilbert

Johanne Stoutz was known for writing many, many poems.  Unfortunately, this poem, found by Minnie Heath, is the only surviving poem to date.  It was written in remembrance of her daughter, Louvina Rasmene Gilbert, who passed away on April 6, 1905 in Manassa, Colorado at the age of fifteen.

Mother's Lonely Feeling

Louvina, it's long since I saw you last,
We all miss you here at home,
A shadow on my life is cast,
I miss you in my room.
But I hope my loss it is your gain,
So I will be willing to lonely fare
Until we may see and meet again;
But Oh! I miss you everywhere!
